What If a Parent or Student Can’t Sign?
Welcome to our guide on managing signatures in FinalForms! Whether you're a parent, guardian, or student, understanding how to navigate the signature process is essential. In this article, we'll cover scenarios where a signature may not be possible and provide clear steps to ensure all necessary information is still captured. Let's dive in!
If a Parent Can't or Won't Sign
In situations where a parent is unable or unwilling to provide a signature, don't worry! You can still proceed with the following steps:
All information must still be entered into the system.
Mark the student as Filed Externally.
Provide a clear explanation for this action. This will override the signature requirements and turn the row blue for easy identification.
If a Parent Does Not Have an Email
Every FinalForms user must have an email address. If a parent does not have one, we recommend creating a free email account, such as a Gmail account, to facilitate access to FinalForms.
If a Student Cannot Sign Due to a Disability
In cases where a student is unable to sign due to a disability, you have a couple of options:
Use the parent's email for the student account.
Alternatively, mark the student as Filed Externally and provide an explanation.
If a Student Is 18 or Emancipated
For students who are 18 years old or have been emancipated, you can create a parent account using the student's email address. This will allow the student to complete their own forms while still being connected to the parent account.
