Retain a Student (Not Promoting to the next Grade)

Remember, FinalForms automatically promotes all students each year, so this process is essential for those who need to remain in their current grade.

Steps to Manage Student Promotions

Follow these simple steps to update a student's grade and ensure their enrollment records are accurate:

  1. Go to Manage > Students. If the next school year is not your current year, switch to 2026-27 Preview Mode.

  2. Search for the student you wish to edit and click on Edit.

  3. Update the student's Grade and Graduation Year.

  4. Scroll to the bottom and click Save.

  5. Click Edit again on the student.

  6. In the Enrollment Records, confirm that the student is assigned to the correct school.

  7. If the school assignment is incorrect, click Edit Record on the active enrollment record, update the school building, and save.

  8. Scroll to the bottom and save your updates. The student will now appear as Active in the correct school.
