Ungraduate a Student (Seniors)

Welcome to our guide on how to reverse a student's graduation status in FinalForms! This process is essential for users with district access or high school Super Admins, as it allows you to manage students who are returning or retained seniors. Follow the steps below to easily update a student's status and ensure they are set for the upcoming school year.

Important Note

Only users with district access or high school Super Admins can view graduates and ungraduate them. FinalForms automatically promotes students, so you can use this feature to reverse graduation for returning or retained seniors.

Steps to Reverse Graduation Status

  1. Go to Manage > Students and switch to 2026-27 Preview Mode.

  2. Filter for Enrollment Status = Graduated.

  3. Find the student you want to update, then click Edit.

  4. Update the Grade to 12th (or Grade 23 if available) and set the Graduation Year.

  5. Scroll down and click Save at the bottom of the page.

  6. Click Edit again.

  7. In Enrollment Records, click Edit Record on the Graduated enrollment record.

  8. Change the Status from Graduated to Active and assign the student to their high school. Then, click Save to update the record.

  9. Finally, scroll to the bottom and click Save Updates. The student will now appear as active in the assigned building for the coming school year.
